21,000 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS NEEDED URGENTLY
A workforce report recently released by the Commissioner Jobs and Skill Australia found that 21,000 early childhood educator are urgently needed across Australia. The Early Childhood Education and Care Workforce Capacity Study found that the ECE workforce needs to grow by 3.2% per year between now and 2024 to meet projected increases in demand. Amongst its many findings, the report also found that children who participated in early education are more likely to enter tertiary education after completing secondary schooling
To attract more people into this important sector, the federal government has recently funded a 15% pay rise over the next two years
