The Certificate I in Work is a post-secondary program for young adults with an intellectual disability

This course will assist learners with:

Basic work skills gained through a work placement (100+ hours
Literacy and numeracy skills
Gaining independence – learning life skills and getting career advice
Engaging, small classes in a supportive environment that are a lot of fun, plus make new friends!

Learners will study the following units

VU23028	Develop and apply an individual vocational plan with support
VU23030	Participate in vocational activities
VU23031	Participate in practical placement with support
VU22591	Participate in short, simple exchanges
VU23032	Develop workplace communication skills
VU23029	Develop personal management skills for work
MSMWHS100	Follow WHS procedures
VU22104	Prepare simple budgets
VU22921	Use coins and notes
VU22787	Prepare for employment

Applicants will be required to take a pre-training review, including literacy and numeracy assessment, to assess their suitability for the course.
