The Certificate I in Work is a post-secondary program for young adults with an intellectual disability
This course will assist learners with:
- Basic work skills gained through a work placement (100+ hours
- Literacy and numeracy skills
- Gaining independence – learning life skills and getting career advice
- Engaging, small classes in a supportive environment that are a lot of fun, plus make new friends!
Learners will study the following units
VU23028 | Develop and apply an individual vocational plan with support |
VU23030 | Participate in vocational activities |
VU23031 | Participate in practical placement with support |
VU22591 | Participate in short, simple exchanges |
VU23032 | Develop workplace communication skills |
VU23029 | Develop personal management skills for work |
MSMWHS100 | Follow WHS procedures |
VU22104 | Prepare simple budgets |
VU22921 | Use coins and notes |
VU22787 | Prepare for employment |
Applicants will be required to take a pre-training review, including literacy and numeracy assessment, to assess their suitability for the course.
